The Creating Abundance Workshop

In 2011, I began a collaboration with a brilliant yoga teacher named Liz McDonald, creator and owner of Brazilian Yoga and Pilates.

Liz and I met when she signed up for my Psychic Meditation Class. She continued to study with me in the other classes I taught last year, and would always tell me that my classes helped her to clear out pain quickly, without moving a muscle. She could validate the healing effect on her body of using the psychic meditation techniques.

Liz also told me that she was coming up with yoga poses to compliment the techniques I was teaching, and that she was practicing this herself. We decided to put our two styles together into classes.

We began with the ‘Healing Your Feminine Energy Workshop’, which was a huge success, not to mention a lot of fun for us. We followed that with the ‘Chakra Series’. Each of these classes combined both of our specialties: my Psychic Meditation techniques and Liz’s yoga-pilates combination.

When you bring your body and spirit together, you create a deep and profound healing that will resonate throughout your whole life. Our classes are for everyone at every level, no previous experience is required.

The workshops we’re planning for 2012 will take place monthly, on Sunday afternoons in Los Angeles. Here is the link to our first upcoming class: ‘The Creating Abundance Workshop’.

The 1st chakra: safety, stability, belonging

Your first chakra contains  information about being secure, stable, protected, and grounded.

Located against your spine at the tailbone, this is also the chakra you create grounding from. Having permission to ground yourself gives you the freedom to be who you are, live how you want to live, have health on every level of being, and feel like you belong, no matter where on earth you are.

This information is extremely important, because in order to create your life, you need to feel secure and safe enough to do so. It’s hard to grow and change if you are constantly feeling unsafe – you’ll have a difficult time taking chances, trying new things, and having your other abilities on and working for you.

It is the first chakra part of you that makes it possible for you to be safe enough to turn on your psychic abilities as well. It’s easier to be psychic and turn on those sensitive higher parts of yourself if your body feels safe and comfortable. If you don’t have access to your own 1st chakra, your abilities may be difficult for you to have for your own use. You might find it hard to control them – for example, many people are very psychic but are frightened of being so because it feels out of control to them. If you can ground yourself, it’s easier to let go of that fear and enjoy your own energy.

When the information in your first chakra is yours, it’s much easier to create your life your way. If you’ve got information in your first chakra that doesn’t belong to you, you may find it difficult and frustrating to manifest what you want, or to feel good in your own body. You might pick up other people’s fears, unconsciousness, or pain and without meaning to, carry it around in your first chakra. Grounding can help you to release those energies that aren’t yours, making it easier to have more of what is.

Your first chakra helps you to create the grounding in your life: shelter, food, career/job, finances, and so on. If you’ve had difficulty creating comfortably on this level, it’s not because your first chakra is flawed. You may be holding onto some energies that have gotten in the way of you accessing your own abilities. By learning more about your own energy, you can begin to release those energies that aren’t yours, and start to have your first chakra working well for you.

What is grounding, and what can it do for you?

Grounding is a technique you can use to make yourself feel safe and real.

When you ground yourself to something stable and neutral like the earth itself, you create a sense of peace and wellness throughout your entire being. The earth is healing for you; you come from the earth, and it is your birthright to work with the earth to heal yourself.

Because grounding makes things real, it can also make your body real. Especially when you’re going through times of great stress and anxiety, being able to ground your body has a profound effect on everything you feel, experience, have, and create for yourself. When you or your body are feeling unwell or unsafe, it’s hard to know where you are. Your energy gets scattered, you might feel completely unable to manifest or create anything you want, instead attracting uncomfortable energies that feel harmful to you.

Grounding protects you. If you’re connected to the earth by grounding yourself to it, you have a way to safely release any energies you might have picked up in your day to day life. The tool you can use to ground yourself with is called a grounding cord. This is simply a line of energy you create to connect your lower body deep into the earth.

Working with earth energy is another way to connect yourself to the earth. Being outside in nature, under the sun and standing on the earth, can help you come back to yourself and remember who you are.

Learning how to ground yourself, and practicing the technique every day, will go far towards helping you to achieve the goals you have for yourself. Grounding can help you to know who you are and be safe enough to be that, create your new creations, let go of the past, forgive and move on from old hurts.
